Airline & Military Benefits Guidance
The benefits you receive from your airline, the union, or the military play an important role in your overall financial picture. These benefits can have a significant effect on your life both while you are working and saving for retirement, and after you have made your final final approach.
One of the biggest advantages we can provide is our in-depth knowledge of these benefits and how they apply to your life and future retirement. We can provide guidance on how your health insurance, retirement plans, and several other benefits fit into your financial plan based on your specific needs and situation.
Health Benefits
You’ll typically be offered multiple options for health insurance, and there are often many questions that come with choosing which plan is right for you. You may be wondering: What is an HSA and should I use one? Will my spouse or family have coverage if something happened to me? Am I making the most cost-effective choice for my health care needs? Our team can help you understand the health care options available to you and which most benefits you, depending on you and your family’s circumstances.
If you are current or former military, we’ll also incorporate benefits such as TRICARE into the evaluation to create a clear picture of which plan offers which benefits, their limitations, and how they work together.
Retirement Plans
When it comes to retirement plans, your airline’s 401(k) plan is likely your primary avenue for saving for retirement. How much you should be saving to your 401(k) changes as your career and other financial needs evolve, but no matter where you are, it’s never too early to begin saving for the future.
As part of your financial plan, we will evaluate your current and future needs to help you plan for how your contributions should change over time to get you closer to reaching your goals. For those with military retirement benefits, your pension will also be considered in this plan. And when your income increases due to seat movement or a contract change, we will re-evaluate your contribution levels as well as other savings strategies such as individual retirement accounts or after-tax accounts.
The goal in all of this is to prepare you for a successful retirement with the resources you need to stop focusing on the numbers and enjoy the next chapter in your life.
We understand that active and retired service members, as well as veterans, across all branches have unique financial needs.
